According to the list announced by the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, member of the Party Committee of the Government, Secretary of the Party Committee and Acting Minister of Industry and Trade Le Manh Hung was elected to the 14th Party Central Committee with strong confidence from the Congress.

Continuing the agenda of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, delegates convened in their respective discussion groups to deliberate on the Congress documents.

On the morning of January 20 in Hanoi, the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) was solemnly opened, with President Luong Cuong delivering the opening address. 

At the preparatory session on January 19, the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam elected a Presidium consisting of 16 Politburo members, a Secretariat of five members, and a Credentials Committee comprising 13 members.

On the occasion of the 14th National Congress of the Party, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang clarifies the core, pillar role of Vietnam’s industry and trade sector in national economic development and national energy security, as well as key tasks and solutions for 2026 and the period ahead

The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) requires power sector units to proactively prepare all possible scenarios to ensure the safe, stable and continuous operation of the power system during the 14th National Party Congress and the Lunar New Year 2026.

On January 14, 2026, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Deputy Minister Truong Thanh Hoai held a meeting and working session with Comrade Zhang Yunming, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China.

On January 14 in Hanoi, a delegation from the Central Commission for Policy and Strategy, together with the Standing Board of the Steering Committee for formulating the project “Strategic solutions to promote double-digit economic growth in the new era - The era of Vietnam’s national resurgence,” in conjunction with the review of Resolution No. 05-NQ/TW of the 12th Party Central Committee, held a working session with the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT).

In accordance with regulations on election work and Guidance No. 26/HD-MTTW-BTT dated December 14, 2025, issued by the Standing Committee of The Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on introducing candidates for the 16th National Assembly, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) on January 15, 2026 organized conferences under the prescribed procedure to introduce personnel to run for deputies of the 16th National Assembly, term 2026 - 2031.

On January 12 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Institute of Strategy and Policy for Industry and Trade organized a conference to review its 2025 work and deploy tasks for 2026.

On the afternoon of January 9, 2026, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Industry and Trade held a meeting of its Steering Committee on the development of science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, and Project 06. The meeting was chaired by Acting Minister of Industry and Trade Le Manh Hung, Head of the Steering Committee.
