The draft Law on E-Commerce was submitted to the National Assembly on November 3 to promote fair competition and protect consumers in the digital economy.

On October 31, 2025, on the sidelines of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week held in Gyeongju, Republic of Korea, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien held a bilateral meeting with Korean Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Kim Jung-Kwan to discuss measures for strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade and energy between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea.

On October 30, 2025, on the sidelines of the 36th APEC Ministerial Meeting on Foreign Affairs and Economy in Gyeongju, Republic of Korea, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien held a bilateral meeting with Mexico’s Minister of Economy, Mr. Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon, to discuss measures aimed at promoting economic, trade, and investment cooperation, as well as strengthening coordination within regional and global cooperation frameworks such as the CPTPP.

On October 30, 2025, on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting held in Gyeongju, Republic of Korea, Singapore and Vietnam signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) on Rice Trade. The MOC was signed by Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-Charge of Trade Relations of Singapore and Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam Nguyen Hong Dien. 

On 28 October, in Madrid, Spain, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam Phan Thi Thang and Secretary of State for Trade of the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Enterprise of the Kingdom of Spain, Amparo López Senovilla, co-chaired the first meeting of the Vietnam - Spain Joint Commission on Economic, Trade, and Investment Cooperation.

On the occasion of accompanying the Prime Minister to attend the 47th ASEAN Summit and related meetings in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on October 26, 2025, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien held a meeting with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State for Economic, Environmental, and Energy Affairs Jacob Helberg. Accompanying the Minister were representatives from the Department of Multilateral Trade Policy, the Department of Foreign Market Development, the Electricity and Renewable Energy Authority, and the Industry and Trade Newspaper.

On October 21, 2025, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien accompanied Party General Secretary To Lam and his spouse in attending the official welcoming ceremony and talks with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, held meetings with Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo, met with several leading Finnish enterprises, and joined other official engagements.

On the afternoon of October 19, at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (VEC), Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son, Head of the Steering Committee for the Autumn Fair 2025 and Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee inspected the progress of the Fair’s construction and preparation.

On October 17, 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), in collaboration with the embassies of EU member states and EuroCham, organized the Vietnam – EU Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum 2025: “Unleashing New Drivers of Growth” in Ho Chi Minh City. This annual event attracts the participation of a large number of Vietnamese and EU enterprises currently investing and operating in Vietnam.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long leads the Vietnamese delegation to attend the 43rd ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM 43) in Malaysia, reaffirming commitment to regional energy cooperation.

On the morning of October 17 in Tuyen Quang, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien attended and delivered the opening remarks at the Northern Region Industry and Trade Conference 2025.
