On December 21, the Prime Minister presented a decision transferring Comrade Le Manh Hung, Chairman of Petrovietnam, to take up duties at the Ministry of Industry and Trade and assigning him to serve as Acting Minister of Industry and Trade.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade held a national conference on December 19, 2025 to review sector performance in 2021-2025 and outline key tasks for 2026.

On December 14, 2025, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien attended the inauguration ceremony of the Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 Power Plants, an event held in conjunction with the installation of a commemorative plaque celebrating the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Continuing the agenda of the 10th session of the 15th National Assembly, on the afternoon of 4 December, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, authorized by the Prime Minister, presented a summary of the Government’s submission and the key policy components outlined in the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on mechanisms and policies for national energy development for the 2026-2030 period.

As part of the State visit to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao PDR and the high-level meeting between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, at noon on December 1, immediately after their talks, General Secretary To Lam and General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, together with senior delegations of both countries, witnessed the handover of cooperation documents.
