On February 1, 2026, in Washington, D.C., on the sidelines of the sixth round of negotiations on the Vietnam - US Fair and Balanced Reciprocal Trade Agreement, Acting Minister of Industry and Trade Le Manh Hung received Juan Ignacio Rubiolo, Chief Executive Officer of AES Corporation, for discussions on energy investment cooperation and other issues of mutual interest in Vietnam’s power sector.

Within the framework of the sixth round of negotiations on the Vietnam - US Fair and Balanced Reciprocal Trade Agreement, on February 2 in Washington, D.C., Acting Minister of Industry and Trade Le Manh Hung participated in a roundtable with the US - ASEAN Business Council (USABC) under the theme “Shaping a stable, long-term and predictable framework for Vietnam - US economic and trade cooperation.”

Acting Minister Le Manh Hung chaired a meeting to deploy solutions ensuring electricity supply in 2026 and accelerating key power generation and grid projects.

According to the list announced by the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, member of the Party Committee of the Government, Secretary of the Party Committee and Acting Minister of Industry and Trade Le Manh Hung was elected to the 14th Party Central Committee with strong confidence from the Congress.
