On December 21, the Prime Minister presented a decision transferring Comrade Le Manh Hung, Chairman of Petrovietnam, to take up duties at the Ministry of Industry and Trade and assigning him to serve as Acting Minister of Industry and Trade.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade held a national conference on December 19, 2025 to review sector performance in 2021-2025 and outline key tasks for 2026.

On December 14, 2025, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien attended the inauguration ceremony of the Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 Power Plants, an event held in conjunction with the installation of a commemorative plaque celebrating the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

With 424 out of 436 deputies present voting in favor, on the morning of December 11, the National Assembly passed a Resolution on mechanisms and policies for national energy development for the 2026-2030 period.

On December 5, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien held a working session with the Chairman of ThaiBev Group and senior leaders of Saigon Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Corporation (SABECO).

Continuing the agenda of the 10th session of the 15th National Assembly, on the afternoon of 4 December, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, authorized by the Prime Minister, presented a summary of the Government’s submission and the key policy components outlined in the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on mechanisms and policies for national energy development for the 2026-2030 period.

On December 2, in Vientiane, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s working delegation, visited and held a working session with the Vietnam Trade Office in Laos.

As part of the State visit to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao PDR and the high-level meeting between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, at noon on December 1, immediately after their talks, General Secretary To Lam and General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, together with senior delegations of both countries, witnessed the handover of cooperation documents.

On the morning of November 29, the plenary session of the Viet Nam Logistics Forum 2025 convened in Da Nang under the theme “Viet Nam Logistics - Rising into a New Era.” The event brought together Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, senior leaders of ministries, agencies, and localities, alongside representatives of diplomatic missions, international organisations, enterprises, business associations and domestic and foreign investors in logistics and related industries.

Minister Nguyen Hong Dien held talks with Guangxi Chairman Wei Tao on November 26 to boost trade and advance new cooperation areas between the two sides.

On November 25, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien met with the EU - ASEAN Business Council delegation at the ministry's headquarters.

On the afternoon of November 24, at the National Assembly House, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received a high-level delegation of the EU-ASEAN Business Council and the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam. Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien attended the meeting.
