Over 11,500 entries join E10 biofuel knowledge contest

The contest ''Understanding the benefits of E10 biofuel'' has attracted more than 11,500 entries nationwide. The Organising Committee awarded prizes to 16 outstanding individuals, while also preparing for a face-to-face final round scheduled to take place on June 12 in Hanoi.

On the morning of June 1 in Hanoi, the Agency for Domestic Market Surveillance and Development (Ministry of Industry and Trade) held a ceremony summarising and awarding prizes for the online round of the contest ''Understanding the benefits of E10 biofuel''.

Taking place from 10:00 on May 25 to 10:00 on May 31, 2026 on the website e10.dms.gov.vn, the online competition recorded 11,572 entries from officials, civil servants, public employees, workers, enterprises, and citizens across the country.

Through the online format, participants were able to learn about the composition, characteristics, economic and environmental benefits of E10 biofuel, as well as the role of this fuel in the process of green energy transition, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and ensuring national energy security.

At the event, Tran Huu Linh, Director of the Agency for Domestic Market Surveillance and Development and Head of the Organising Committee, stated that the contest is not only a platform for learning about E10 biofuel but also contributes to spreading accurate and useful information about biofuels in relation to the environment and the economy.

According to the Director, the results of the online round reflect the growing public interest in clean energy solutions, while also laying the foundation for further communication activities to raise awareness of biofuel use, contributing to Vietnam’s goals of green economic development and emissions reduction.

After compiling and verifying results in accordance with the rules, the Organising Committee identified 16 winners, including 1 First Prize worth VND 3 million; 2 Second Prizes worth VND 2 million each; 3 Third Prizes worth VND 1 million each; and 10 Consolation Prizes worth VND 500,000 each.

At the ceremony, the Organising Committee directly awarded six prizes to individuals able to attend the event, including 1 First Prize, 1 Second Prize, 3 Third Prizes, and 1 Consolation Prize. The remaining winners will be contacted by the Organising Committee for award distribution in accordance with regulations.

Representing the winners, Tran Quoc Hung said the contest helped him better understand the role and benefits of E10 biofuel in environmental protection and sustainable energy development. He described it as a meaningful and practical initiative, providing the public with access to valuable knowledge about biofuels.

Following the conclusion of the online round, the Organising Committee is finalising preparations for the final round of the contest “Understanding the benefits of E10 biofuel,” which is scheduled to take place at 14:00 on June 12, 2026 in Hanoi with the participation of five teams. This will be a continuation activity aimed at spreading knowledge of E10 biofuel and promoting the use of environmentally friendly fuels within the community.
