Prime Minister's decision appointing new Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade handed over

The ceremony was attended by Le Thi Thu Hang, Deputy Director of Department V under the Commission for Organization of CPVCC; leaders of the Office of the Government. Representing the MoIT were Party Committee Secretary and Minister of Industry and Trade Le Manh Hung; Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan; Deputy Minister Truong Thanh Hoai; Deputy Minister Nguyen Viet Son; and leaders of units under the Ministry.

At the ceremony, Director of the Department of Personnel and Organization Tran Quang Huy announced Decision No. 1717/QD-TTg, dated September 4, issued by Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, on the appointment of Nguyen Viet Son, Director of the Department of Oil and Gas and Coal, as Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Viet Son was born in 1970 in Ha Tinh. He holds a degree in Petrochemical Engineering and a doctorate in Petroleum Refining and Petrochemical Catalysis, and has extensive experience in State management of the oil and gas sector.

At the ceremony, Politburo member and Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc congratulated the MoIT on having an additional member of its leadership. He also said that the newly appointed Deputy Minister Nguyen Viet Son is a well-trained official who has spent many years working at the MoIT, built his career in the oil and gas sector, and held various important positions at agencies and units across the industry and trade sector. His appointment as Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade demonstrates the trust and expectations placed by the Party and Government leadership, as well as the leadership, officials and employees of the MoIT, in him and in the development of the Ministry and the industry and trade sector.

"I hope that, in his new position, Nguyen Viet Son will continue to promote his capabilities and qualities, and work together with the MoIT leadership as a united and creative team to successfully fulfill the assigned tasks," the Standing Deputy Prime Minister said.

Regarding tasks in the coming period, the Standing Deputy Prime Minister asked the MoIT to continue consolidating its organizational apparatus and prepare to take on a number of new State management tasks. At the same time, the Ministry should promote its role as a multi-sector and multi-field ministry; boost domestic production, enhance the economy's self-reliance, ensure energy security and sufficient electricity for production and daily life, while improving the effectiveness of trade offices abroad.

At the ceremony, Party Committee Secretary and Minister of Industry and Trade Le Manh Hung emphasized that the appointment of Nguyen Viet Son was the result of a process of training, selection and nomination of personnel from within the Ministry, with a high degree of consensus among the Party Committee Standing Board, the Party Committee and key leaders of the Ministry. This also continues the tradition and provides additional resources for the development of the industry and trade sector.

The Minister affirmed that the MoIT would continue to uphold the spirit of solidarity and unity, build a strong team and pursue common goals, focusing on implementing tasks assigned by the Party, State and Government. At the same time, the Ministry will continue to promote innovation, creativity and proactiveness, working together with the Government and other ministries and sectors to contribute to successfully achieving the country's target of double-digit economic growth.

After receiving his new assignment, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Viet Son expressed his honor at being entrusted by the Party, State, Government and Ministry leadership with the new responsibility. He said that this is not merely a new position, but also a greater responsibility to the industry and trade sector and the country.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Viet Son emphasized that the industry and trade sector plays an important role in the fields of industry, energy and trade. In the new development period, the sector must contribute to promoting rapid and sustainable growth, enhancing the economy's self-reliance and competitiveness, while effectively addressing both immediate tasks and long-term strategic priorities. He affirmed that he would make every effort to successfully fulfill the assigned tasks, while expressing his hope for continued attention and guidance from Party and Government leaders and Minister Le Manh Hung; coordination from central-level agencies, ministries and sectors; and, in particular, the support of the Ministry's leadership collective as well as all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers across the industry and trade sector.
