Closing Ceremony of the First Spring Fair 2026

On February 13, the closing ceremony of the First Spring Fair 2026 was held at the Vietnam Exposition Center (VEC). Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and delivered the closing address.

Among those in attendance were Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh; Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son, Head of the National Fair Steering Committee; Acting Minister of Industry and Trade Le Manh Hung, Standing Deputy Head of the same committee; leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment; representatives of the People’s Committee of Hanoi; as well as members of the diplomatic corps, international organizations and local authorities.

A dynamic conclusion, generating new momentum for trade

After 12 vibrant days, Spring Fair 2026 officially concluded with notable achievements in participation scale, visitor numbers, and commercial performance. More than a seasonal shopping destination, the event has increasingly positioned itself as a comprehensive trade promotion platform, where businesses, localities, and distribution networks connect directly to forge new partnerships.

According to the organizing committee, the fair attracted around 500.000 visitors throughout its duration. Alongside residents of the capital and neighboring provinces, the event welcomed international delegations from India, the Philippines, Belgium, South Korea, Japan, and China seeking products and cooperation opportunities.

Strong footfall and stable purchasing power provided significant momentum for participating businesses. Daily revenues at exhibition booths ranged from several million to hundreds of millions of Vietnamese dong. Approximately 75% of enterprises recorded substantial growth during peak weekend periods. Several localities, including Hanoi, Ca Mau, and Lao Cai, repeatedly replenished supplies as demand exceeded expectations.

A lasting imprint on the public and business community

In his closing remarks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that over 12 dynamic and colorful days, held in the festive atmosphere leading up to the traditional Lunar New Year, the First Spring Fair 2026 vividly reflected the vitality of the country’s economic and consumer landscape at the beginning of the year. The event left a strong impression on citizens and businesses alike, spreading a spirit of innovation, creativity, unity, and integration, while conveying confidence and aspiration for a prosperous new year.

“As I stated at the opening ceremony, the First Spring Fair 2026, under the theme ‘Connecting Prosperity - Welcoming a Glorious Spring,’ has transcended the bounds of a conventional trade promotion event. It has resonated as a powerful ceremonial drumbeat, signaling an auspicious beginning a new national opportunity underscored by its remarkable achievements,” Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed.

He further noted that after 12 days of operation, despite adverse weather conditions, including cold spells and rain and amid the rapid growth of e-commerce, the fair attracted more than 500,000 visitors from provinces and cities across the country, alongside numerous international delegations who came to explore products, make purchases, and pursue trade and cooperation opportunities.

Acting Minister of Industry and Trade Le Manh Hung, Standing Deputy Head of the National Fair Steering Committee, attended the closing ceremony.

With over 3.000 booths and tens of thousands of products from across the nation, the fair created a vibrant cultural and artistic space that fully captured the festive spirit of spring. Visitors experienced a nationwide journey through cultural showcases, culinary offerings, and immersive activities that harmoniously blended traditional heritage with modern expression.

The fair’s most significant achievement lay in its capacity to connect supply and demand; link businesses with one another; bring consumers closer to producers and bridge material and cultural values. It also served as a platform for trade agreements and investment partnerships, while accelerating e-commerce in the context of digital and green transformation.

On behalf of the Government, the Prime Minister commended ministries, sectors, local authorities, the business community, particularly Vingroup and the public, along with international organizations and partners, for their active contributions to the fair’s success. He described the event as “a symphony heralding the colors of spring” and “a seed of prosperity sown with confidence and hope at the beginning of a new year.”

The Organizing Committee honored participating units, organizations, and enterprises at the fair.

The success of the First Spring Fair 2026 was reflected not only in economic and commercial results but also in its broad cultural and social impact. It stands as a vivid testament to national internal strength, collective confidence, unity, and the aspiration for self-reliance and progress.

The Prime Minister affirmed that the fair has proven to be an effective channel for stimulating domestic consumption, one of the country’s key growth drivers while also serving as a dynamic bridge between domestic and international trade. It demonstrates the expanding global presence and competitiveness of national products and brands, earning strong recognition and opening new export opportunities.

The event further reaffirmed the vitality of the campaign encouraging consumers to prioritize domestic goods, highlighting growing trust and pride in nationally produced items distinguished by quality, modern design, and intellectual value.

Beyond commerce, the fair served as a gathering space that strengthened national solidarity and cultural exchange. It offered visitors a joyful spring destination, filled with festive energy and hope for a prosperous year ahead.

Its success also defined a distinctive identity for the Spring Fair: a convergence of high-quality regional specialties, modern design, and rich cultural heritage, a firm stance against counterfeit and substandard goods; a commitment to community-oriented values; and a strategic platform linking businesses, consumers, and partners at home and abroad to build a sustainable and modern trade ecosystem.

The strong presence of international business delegations underscored the country’s growing appeal as a safe and promising investment destination, capable of attracting high-quality capital flows and advancing sustainable consumption trends. The event also affirmed national readiness to host trade fairs of regional and global stature.

“This achievement stems from the sound leadership of the Party, the decisive and flexible governance of the Government, and the collective engagement of the entire political system, the people, and the business community,” the Prime Minister stated.

Transforming “spring opportunities” into year-round achievements

Although Spring Fair 2026 has concluded, it stands as a spirited herald of a new development phase one defined by proactive engagement and readiness to seize emerging opportunities.

To fully capitalize on its outcomes, the Prime Minister called on the Ministry of Industry and Trade to conduct a comprehensive evaluation and draw practical lessons. He urged deeper and more effective implementation of the campaign promoting domestic goods, encouraging consumers to move beyond preference toward genuine trust and pride in national products.

He also called on ministries and local authorities to enhance the quality of domestic goods, ensure smooth commodity circulation, sustain domestic purchasing power, and contribute directly to economic growth. With the Lunar New Year approaching, market supervision must be strengthened to guarantee adequate supply of essential goods and prevent substandard products from entering circulation. Counterfeit and fake goods must be resolutely eliminated.

The business community, he said, must remain at the forefront of technological advancement, innovation, and digital and green transformation, grounding operations in business culture, guided by entrepreneurial ethics, and centered on humanistic values. Enterprises should compete globally with products that meet international standards while reflecting national intellectual identity.

Vibrant artistic performances enlivened the closing ceremony.

To international partners, the Government reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a transparent, fair, and conducive business environment. Partners were encouraged to remain trusted companions and strategic bridges bringing high-quality investment, core technologies, and green governance, while expanding cooperation for shared peace and prosperity.

Consumers were urged to demonstrate patriotism and national pride through responsible purchasing behavior supporting domestic goods with both emotion and reason, demanding high standards, and closely monitoring product quality to strengthen national brands.

“All of us must unite to mobilize every resource, seize every opportunity, and create new values to realize the aspiration of national development, so that every citizen shares in and benefits from the country’s prosperity,” the Prime Minister affirmed.
