Ministry of Industry and Trade hosts online conference reviewing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW implementation
On the afternoon of July 1, at the Ministry of Industry and Trade headquarters, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade hosted an online venue for the Conference reviewing 18 months of the implementation of Politburo Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW.
In accordance with Official Letter No. 3373-CV/VPTW issued by the Office of the Party Central Committee regarding participation in and organization of the Conference reviewing 18 months of the implementation of Politburo Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade organized an online venue for the conference at the Ministry's headquarters.

Participants included members of the Standing Committee, Executive Committee, and Inspection Commission of the Ministry's Party Committee, leaders of the Ministry's departments and equivalent units, and members of the Ministry's Steering Committee for the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW.
According to the Party Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the conference was held to review the implementation of Politburo Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, dated December 22, 2024, on breakthroughs in the development of science and technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, with the aim of comprehensively assessing the results achieved after 18 months of implementation. The conference also sought to identify outstanding achievements, effective models and best practices, as well as challenges, obstacles, underlying causes, and lessons learned throughout the implementation process.
The conference further aimed to disseminate key tasks and solutions for the period ahead, while continuing to strengthen the awareness and sense of responsibility of Party committees, Party organizations, agencies, units, Party members, civil servants, public employees, and workers in implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW. The objective is to foster unity in both understanding and action, thereby contributing to the successful achievement of the national goals and tasks for science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation.

Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW states that the development of science and technology, innovation, and national digital transformation constitutes the foremost strategic breakthrough and serves as the primary driver for rapidly developing modern productive forces, improving production relations, modernizing national governance, advancing socio-economic development, preventing the risk of falling behind, and enabling the country to achieve breakthrough growth and prosperity in the new era.
The Resolution sets out targets for 2030, under which Vietnam's scientific, technological, and innovation capacity is expected to reach advanced levels in many key fields, placing the country among the leading upper-middle-income economies. Enterprises' technological capabilities and innovation capacity are expected to exceed the global average, while several areas of science and technology are targeted to attain international standards.

By 2030, Vietnam aims to rank among the top three countries in Southeast Asia and the top 50 globally in digital competitiveness and the E-Government Development Index. The country also seeks to be among Southeast Asia's top three nations in artificial intelligence research and development, while becoming a regional hub for several digital technology industries in which Vietnam holds competitive advantages. At least five Vietnamese digital technology enterprises are expected to reach the level of leading companies in advanced economies.
Looking ahead to 2045, the Resolution envisions robust development in science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation, contributing to Vietnam's goal of becoming a developed, high-income country. The digital economy is targeted to account for at least 50% of GDP, with Vietnam emerging as one of the regional and global centers for digital technology industries and ranking among the world's top 30 countries in innovation and digital transformation. The proportion of digital technology enterprises is expected to be comparable to that of developed countries, while at least 10 Vietnamese digital technology enterprises are expected to achieve a level on par with those in advanced economies.
Politburo Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW also sets the objective that, by 2045, Vietnam will attract at least five additional leading global technology organizations and enterprises to establish headquarters and invest in research and manufacturing activities in the country.
