Vietnam Trade Office in Spain promotes economic cooperation and business connectivity
On 7 July 2026, the Vietnam Trade Office in Spain, in coordination with the Spain - ASEAN Business Association, hosted a business networking event to showcase the potential for economic, trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Spain, while promoting the Vietnam International Sourcing 2026 (VIS 2026), which will take place in Vietnam from 3 - 5 September 2026.
The event brought together more than 30 Spanish companies attending in person, alongside online participation from the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, representatives of the Andalusia regional government, and several Spanish businesses operating in Vietnam.
Addressing the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to Spain Doan Thanh Song reviewed the key milestones in bilateral relations and reaffirmed Vietnam’s commitment to strengthening economic, trade and investment ties with Spain. He highlighted that Vietnam is vigorously implementing a wide range of economic development policies.

These include significant efforts to improve the investment and business environment by making it more transparent, stable and business-friendly; promoting the private sector as a key driver of economic growth; encouraging investment in manufacturing, innovation, digital transformation and green development; and deepening international economic integration while expanding participation in global supply chains.
According to Ambassador Doan Thanh Song, these policy directions create new opportunities for Spanish businesses in Vietnam, particularly in manufacturing, technology, green energy, logistics, agri-food and other high value-added industries.
At the event, representatives of Spain - ASEAN Business Association, the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam and the Andalusia regional government all described Vietnam as one of the most dynamic markets in the region, with strong growth potential and increasing appeal to international investors. They also reaffirmed their commitment to serving as a bridge to promote investment cooperation and trade exchanges between the business communities of the two countries.

As part of the programme, Vietnamese Trade Counsellor in Spain Luu Van Khang introduced the scale and business matching activities of VIS 2026. The exhibition is expected to bring together around 600 Vietnamese enterprises, offering international partners opportunities to identify suppliers, manufacturers and investment prospects across sectors including food and beverages, processed agricultural products and manufacturing industries. VIS 2026 will also serve as a platform connecting international businesses with Vietnamese suppliers, thereby promoting trade cooperation and supporting deeper integration into regional and global supply chains.
Trade Counsellor Luu Van Khang also proposed that the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam work closely with Spanish companies investing and operating in Vietnam to encourage their participation in VIS 2026 through a dedicated “Spain Pavilion”. The initiative is expected to enhance the visibility of Spanish enterprises while fostering stronger business partnerships and commercial cooperation between the two countries.
