MoIT has recently issued a notice on adjusting the time for organizing the launch of the movement “All people practice energy conservation and efficiency and respond to Earth Hour 2026”, aiming to ensure unified and effective implementation in line with actual conditions.

According to the ministry, the agency that has chaired activities responding to the Earth Hour campaign for many years, the 2026 campaign will continue to carry the message “green innovation - green future”, calling on agencies, organizations and the public to strengthen energy-saving practices while promoting innovation in production and consumption toward greater efficiency and sustainability.

Previously, the launch ceremony and related activities were scheduled to take place from March 7, 2026. However, as the country will hold elections for deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 tenure in mid-March, MoIT decided to adjust the schedule to ensure coordination and avoid affecting the general work of localities.

Under the new plan, the launch ceremony and a running event in response to Earth Hour 2026 will be held on the morning of Saturday, March 21, 2026 in Hanoi, and will also be conducted online nationwide. Communication and community outreach activities will continue to be strengthened to spread the spirit of energy conservation and efficiency throughout society.

In addition, MoIT has launched an online contest on knowledge of energy conservation and efficient use of energy, taking place from March 21 to April 11, 2026. The activity aims to raise public awareness, especially among students and youth union members.
