Polish businesses voice expectations for Vietnam’s business environment
Polish enterprises need to step beyond the borders of Poland and the European Union to expand into global markets. This was the message delivered by Chris Humphrey, Executive Director of the EU - ASEAN Business Council, at the forum “Poland - ASEAN Dialogue: A Community of Shared Interests.”
Echoing this view, Wojciech Gerwel, Special Envoy for the Indo-Pacific at Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that Southeast Asia represents a highly promising market for Polish businesses. Drawing on his extensive experience in the region, having served successively as Trade Counsellor and later Ambassador of Poland to Vietnam, he noted that the region’s complementary economic structures and the ASEAN common market of 650 million people, with rapidly rising purchasing power, offer significant opportunities.

Katarzyna Dubno, Director of Corporate Affairs and Market Access at the biopharmaceutical group, outlined the company’s success following its acquisition of the domestic pharmaceutical firm Davipharm in 2017. The facility has since been upgraded to meet European Union Good Manufacturing Practice (EU-GMP) standards, employing 460 staff and producing high-quality medicines for global distribution. Adamed’s growth trajectory stands as a vivid testament to the potential of the Vietnamese market in particular and ASEAN as a whole.
