Minister Nguyen Hong Dien chairs review meeting on MoIT’s digital government
On November 4, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien chaired a meeting in Hanoi to review the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s digital government implementation progress.
The meeting gathered leaders of MoIT’s departments, agencies, and institutes, along with representatives of consulting firms and contractors.
At the session, project units and contractors presented progress reports on the development of digital transformation infrastructure systems within the Ministry. They also proposed solutions to accelerate implementation and ensure timely completion.

Three main contractors Viettel Group, Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), and Thien Hoang Technology Group, reported that most digital transformation components had been completed.
Specifically, Viettel has developed the Ministry’s portal, data center, and over 20 specialized databases, pledging completion before November 15 and proposing early issuance of the MoIT’s data management and operation regulations.
VNPT has focused on administrative procedure reform under the ministry-level information system architecture, deployed across 26 provinces, and committed to shortening timelines and supporting data connection and management.
Thien Hoang reported substantial completion of specialized databases and the operation command center, aiming for full integration and operation between October and November, and readiness for data utilization regulations.

Based on the reports and feedback, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien directed several measures to further accelerate digital transformation at the Ministry.

He requested relevant units to promptly finalize inputs and seek opinions from the Ministry’s leadership and the Party Committee Standing Board to issue the Data Development Strategy and master plan for the data center infrastructure by November 5, 2025.
Regarding the Data Management and Operation Regulation, the Minister asked Viettel to study existing frameworks and provide consultancy so that the Ministry can finalize and issue the regulation before November 7.

For newly developed platforms, the Minister instructed MoIT units to review and coordinate with the E-Commerce and Digital Economy Agency to finalize documents and officially put them into operation before November 7, 2025.
He also requested contractors to expedite final settlements of ongoing packages and continue working closely with the Ministry to complete platform components, ensuring interconnectivity between the Ministry, the Government, and localities.
Project management and independent testing consultants were urged to allocate sufficient human and financial resources to complete the Ministry’s digital transformation tasks within November 2025. Local departments were also encouraged to maintain close coordination with the MoIT to ensure compliance and progress.
